Coaches & referees play an important role at Bournemouth RFC in taking the quality of rugby to a higher level and creating an environment in which many children can enjoy playing rugby.
I would like to use this role to help improve channels of communication between age groups so that we can share coaching experiences, standardise on best practices and pass lessons learnt from age group to age group.
To ensure youth & mini coaches are kept up-to-date with any relevant news, please ensure I have your correct contact details.
Below are the main tasks for this role:
- Being the main point of contact for all coaching matters for the RFU and for club coaches.
- Identifying & arranging coaching and referee courses.
- Liasing with Coach Development Officers to arrange more localised courses.
- Arrange meetings with all coaches in order to share ideas.
Naturally, this is a flexible role and will develop as required by the coaching team.
If you have any suggestions or ideas that would benefit coaching at the club, please do contact me.
Bournemouth RFC hold coaching meetings & social get togethers in order to strengthen bonds between age group coaches and to provide a platform to share ideas.
These meetings are aimed at all youth & mini coaches and any suggestions for topics are welcome or if you'd like to present lessons learnt to the rest of the coaching team please also feel free to contact the Youth & Mini Coaching Coordinator.
NEXT MEETING: TBC...
Bournemouth RFC support all coaches & referees in developing their skills. It would greatly benefit all players if we had more qualified referees, so if you are interested, please let me know.

For the benefit of everyone involved, all coaches are expected to abide by the coaches' Code of Conduct.
Bournemouth RFC takes the discipline of its players, officials and supporters very seriously. Each and every player (and their family) in the Mini/Midi and Youth section is required to sign-up to, and adhere by, the section's Code of Conduct, which is included in the registration pack supplied at the start of the season.
Any breaches of discipline must be reported immediately to the Coaching Co-ordinator and Mini/Midi & Youth Chairman and will be dealt with in accordance with the club Disciplinary Procedures.
Team managers & head coaches are to ensure that all those directly involved with the players in their age group have a current, valid CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check. If you need any help with this please speak to the child welfare officer, Julie Fisher.
